HONESTLY — what if it happened to anybody / anybody’s child(ren) … anyone at ALL? Morality shouldn’t apply only when it directly and personally affects you. Although I think the rhetorical question that titles this piece is a good way of thinking I feel it just does not improve the safety of the people in general.
